We love camping.
From a site devoted to camping, that probably doesn’t come as much of a surprise. Still, we like to say it. Maybe it’s a way of showing that we’re not just in this for the money (although our accountants could testify to that). More likely, though, it’s because we want other people to love camping too. We want everyone to enjoy the feel of being immersed in nature–far enough from “civilization” that you can no longer even hear the cars. To marvel at the way a pond can look so completely different at different times of the day, yet no less beautiful. To smell the leaves and the fresh air; to build your own fire; to crawl into a tent at the end of a long day knowing that a down-filled mattress at a four-star hotel couldn’t feel any better.
TrailCamper is dedicated to the casual camper for whom a getaway in the wilderness is a rare treat–and perhaps something you don’t feel completely prepared for. We want to show you that you don’t have to spend a fortune on gear to have a great outdoor experience; that you don’t have to be Les Stroud to survive a weekend in the woods; and that you don’t have to climb sheer cliffs to find a pristine campsite where you can really connect with nature.
Too tall an order? We don’t think so. We all learned this stuff too–and some of us are still learning. Explore with us and will show you what we’ve learned so far. But we’ll be counting on you to share what you’ve learned with us.
It’s going to be a grand adventure.
